Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Kevin Urness

General Dentist

Dr. Kevin is proud to be born and raised in Red Deer, where he was lucky enough to have Dr. Barry Fleming and Dr. Tony Odenbach as his dentists growing up. He was very active in the sporting community, playing hockey (don’t tease him about being a goalie!), lacrosse, football and rugby. Coming from a big family, he was eager to get some freedom and moved to Edmonton to complete his Biology degree at the University of Alberta. He then completed his dental degree at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He was lucky to have many opportunities to study and research abroad throughout his education, and is happy to share those stories with any patients considering doing the same!

Outside of work, you’ll find him running the local trails with his dog, or exploring the world by bicycle with his wife Lisa. He’ll be eager to practice his Spanish or French with anyone at our clinic, and is always looking to encourage his younger patients to look into a profession in the dental field!

He remains active in the dental community as a regular volunteer at the DooR (Dental Outreach of Red Deer) program providing urgent dental care to youth, and as the treasurer and an executive of the Central Alberta Dental Society.

You’ll see Dr. Kevin doing all types of general dentistry, with kids and adults alike, but will notice that his schedule mostly consists of patients who have sought him out for his skills in removing teeth, placing implants, sedation, dealing with wisdom teeth and other surgical procedures.

Dr. Ryan Fleming

General Dentist

Dr. Ryan was born in Drayton Valley, Alberta but moved to Red Deer at a young age when his father began practicing dentistry here. He grew up in Red Deer and attended Red Deer College before completing his dental education at the University of Alberta in 2000. Upon graduation, he returned to Red Deer and began practicing as an associate for his father, Dr. Barry Fleming, as well as Dr. Tony Odenbach. He considers himself extremely fortunate to begin his career under the mentorship of both his dad and Tony and to also work alongside his father for 10 years.
Outside of dentistry, Ryan enjoys most sports and especially values his time with his family. He is an avid fan of the Edmonton Oilers but also enjoys trading barbs with his patients that happen to cheer for Calgary!
Ryan welcomes patients of all ages and his preferred area of practice is Restorative Dentistry.
